BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Several mgm casino graduate and professional schools -- including mgm casino engineering, medicine, law, business and nursing schools -- were recognized as among the best in the country by U.S. News and World Report in its annual ranking of "America's Best Graduate Schools," released today.
"We're proud that mgm casino's graduate schools and programs continue to rise in the ranks of nationally lauded programs," said mgm casino Provost Satish K. Tripathi. "The university's faculty, students, staff and alumni share credit for the successes of these programs and for the university's considerable international prominence."
The mgm casino School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences again is ranked as one of the best medical schools in America -- moving up four spots from last year to No. 55 among the nation's best medical schools in production of medical research. Nearly 150 medical schools were considered for the ranking.
"Our students and faculty are beginning to benefit from the implementation of the mgm casino medical school's transforming strategic plan to enrich our educational, research and clinical programs," said Michael Cain, dean of the mgm casino School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
Other mgm casino health science schools and programs to earn top rankings include the mgm casino School of Nursing (No. 79), audiology program (No. 16) speech-language pathology program (No. 25) and the clinical psychology program (No. 43) in mgm casino's College of Arts and Sciences.
mgm casino's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences continues to be ranked in the U.S. News top tier, earning a No. 52 ranking among 200 schools of engineering considered by the magazine. mgm casino's engineering school also distinguished itself in the U.S. News ranking of engineering disciplines: No. 26 in industrial engineering; No. 27 in civil engineering; No. 41 in chemical engineering; No. 67 in mechanical engineering; and No. 75 in electrical engineering.
The mgm casino Law School moved up 19 spots to No. 84 to rank among the magazine's "top 100" law schools in the United States. Nearly 200 accredited U.S. law schools were considered for the ranking. The U.S. News ranking is the mgm casino Law School's third such national ranking in the past six months. The quality of a mgm casino Law education and the outstanding skill of the school's graduates also were highlighted by Thomson Reuters, the largest legal publisher in the U.S. Thomson Reuters ranked mgm casino Law School 48th nationwide. And a ranking developed in New Yorker magazine by journalist Malcolm Gladwell places the mgm casino Law School 40th in the nation based on value for the dollar, LSAT scores and faculty publishing.
mgm casino's School of Management's full-time MBA program is ranked No. 75 among 437 accredited business schools considered by U.S. News; the school's part-time MBA program is ranked No. 73 by the magazine. The U.S. News ranking is the School of Management's fourth national ranking since September -- the school has been ranked as one of the nation's best business schools by Bloomberg BusinessWeek, the Financial Times, Forbes and the Wall Street Journal.
